About Aniline

Aniline (synonym: aminobenzene, also called phenylamine) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CHNH, consisting of a phenyl group attached to an amino group. It is a colorless to slightly brown oily liquid with a characteristic odor and is slightly soluble in water but easily soluble in organic solvents. Aniline is an important industrial chemical widely used as a precursor in the manufacture of dyes (especially azo dyes), pharmaceuticals, rubber-processing chemicals, pesticides, and plastics. It is also a key raw material in the production of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), which is used to make polyurethane foams for insulation, furniture, and automotive applications.
